Our
next Pack meeting will be on Saturday, February 27th at 5:00 PM
at Old South Union Congregational Church located at 25 Columbian Street, S.
Weymouth. Use the Torrey Street entrance to get to Fellowship Hall in the
basement level. This is our annual Blue & Gold Awards Dinner and Crossover.
Den 6 Webelos II will be in charge of opening ceremony. Each scout must wear
their full Class A uniform (hat, neckerchief, shirt, belt, clean/nice blue
pants/blue jeans).
NOTE:
The ceremony begins at 5:00 PM sharp so please arrive early enough to be seated
at a table and view the items on raffle. Dinner will be served AFTER the
ceremony.
Blue &
Gold Dinner Awards Dinner and Crossover Ceremony:
The
annual Blue & Gold dinner is here! The Parent Committee has planned the menu;
the centerpieces and decorations are being made. We can’t do it all by
ourselves we need parental help! We need people to help set up, clean up and
help in the kitchen. Please contact your den leader if you can help. Ticket
prices are $5 per person and kids under 5 are free. Please contact your den
leader to get your tickets. This year we are ordering food from the Weymouth
High School Culinary Arts Department. Same menu as last year (pasta, meatballs,
sausages, chicken nuggets, salad). We are asking that each scout family bring a
dessert to share. We are also looking for raffle items. Are you crafty or
have a service to donate? Can your business or employer donate a gift? Let us
know. Popcorn sales were extremely low this year, if we can raise money on a
raffle we won’t need another fundraiser.

Message from Committee Member, Scribe and Assistant Den Leader
Dear
Scout Families,
I want
to take this opportunity to say goodbye. It has been my privilege over the last
8 years to be associated with Pack 9 and involved as a committee member for the
last 5 years. I have met some really great people as a result. I can’t
express to you how much the pack needs parents and adults to help. We have
asked but had little response. Do you know that it’s the den leaders and
Cubmaster that not only run the den meetings and pack meeting but also make up
the committee too? These folks need your help, they can’t keep doing it all.
Any little bit you can do to help will be a huge help to them. This year,
please consider attending the monthly parent committee meetings – who knows, you
might actually have fun. Don’t let these years pass you by while your son has
fun, get involved. I promise you won’t regret it.
Yours in
Scouting,
Carrie
